PCHS students participating in Read Across America

Students from Peach County High School helped spread the joy of reading across the community today as part of Read Across America, a nationwide initiative that encourages children to develop a lifelong love of books.

Observed annually in early March and organized by the National Education Association, Read Across America highlights the importance of literacy and encourages students of all ages to celebrate reading. Schools across the country participate by hosting special reading activities, inviting guest readers, and sharing favorite books with younger students.

On Friday, March 6, several Peach County High School students visited local elementary schools to take part in the celebration by reading aloud to classrooms of younger students. The high school readers shared stories, answered questions, and helped create a fun and engaging experience centered around books.

The visits provided a meaningful opportunity for younger students to see older peers modeling the importance of reading, while also giving the high school students a chance to serve as mentors and role models in their community.

Events like these not only celebrate literacy but also strengthen connections between schools across the district. By taking time to read with younger students, Peach County High School students helped bring the spirit of Read Across America to life and inspire the next generation of readers.PCHS student participating in read Across AmericaPCHS student participating in read Across AmericaPCHS student participating in read Across AmericaPCHS student participating in read Across AmericaPCHS student participating in read Across AmericaPCHS student participating in read Across AmericaPCHS student participating in read Across AmericaPCHS student participating in read Across AmericaPCHS student participating in read Across AmericaPCHS student participating in read Across America
